Just curious if you (or anyone) use gimp in other creative ways for their project, than sprites/tilesets. RPG Maker Role-playing video game Gaming. In this case it wouldn't make a difference at all, though. Im new to making tilesets and to RPG Maker MV and I was looking for a tileset template or someone can tell me the dimensions that a tileset needs to be. I have met many who are very inventive with their solutions, but those solutions are often over complicated cause they don't use layers. I always advice new users to gimp (or PS), to figure out layers first. Yeah I see what you mean, but working with layers is an essential to make good tilesets/sprites or anything you do with gimp. Indeed I thought you meant my approach was overkill. This is a grid that should fit that tile sheet size Paste it on a new layer in your tileset documents, underneath the tiles themselves, to use as reference while youre copying and pasting. Multiple layers can be intimidating to people new to this sort of thing, whereas everyone knows what an eraser does! =) Yeah, I know. EDIT: okay, if my googling did not fail me, the B-E tilesets for MV/MZ are 768px square, and each tile is 48px. You could use one here, but I feel using an eraser or a new layer (as you suggested) are more straightforward approaches. There is no need for scripting, nor do you need to create a separate charset for it. Or is it as simple as going over a tile with a 50% intensity eraser and saving it as a PNG with the usual settings? That's worked for me before! ^_^ For commercial use make sure you have permission for the original tilesets of RMMV, since this is an edit. Just some roofs and a bit smoothed out mountain tops. I'm reminded, though, that the automatic move routes don't start processing until the screen is done fading in, so it may be better to put the opacity move route in a separate autorun/parallel event instead. I edited the tileset of RMMV a bit for my own needs and would like to share with you.
